Grand #5 has a problem with her tongue and that is why she can't speak well.  The part that holds your tongue down is thicker than usual.  It was discovered when they told her to stick out your tongue and instead of being straight it curved.  She'll have 12 weeks of therapy.  DSIL asked twice how much attention span they thought a 3 yr old had.

I was at Noah's Ark yesterday and had to leave early because the heat got to me.  I hitched a ride to the gate with the lady who is 80 and drived around in a golf cart.  She had taken several to the gate.  I filled up my water bottle and was half through with it when I started to get stomach cramps.  I was with another volunteer and told her I thought I'd better go back.  It is about 1 1/2 mile walk.  I was able to flag down 'grandma' and she gave me a ride to the gate.  Then it was just a 2 block walk to the welcome center.  They said that in 2 weeks if it is too hot to stay home. No way!

I met this wonderful family who had planned for 3 months to bring their grandmother.  She was in a scooter & used oxygen.  She was so excited to see our birds. She said that she once had a parrot that had grown up and lived in a monestary.  Every afternoon the bird started mumbling. She realized that the bird was trying to say the Monks' chants!  We have one parrot that will sound like a fire truck and another that if you say Hello he'll say Goodby.

The granddaughter was talking with me and I will be calling her.  I may be invited to sit on her board of directors and possibly do special class that deals with TV.  Whe lives too far to have this become a full time job, but it looks inviting.  Networking is the only way to find anything now.  Our paper had just one job listed today.

I started a Lisa Jackson novel last night and I'll read while the race is on today. Later I have to go pick up the 40  cans of cat food.  I do not go to the self check out and the clerk has to run each can through.  She can't do 5 @ etc.

Have a wonderful day.

Karen, I belong to a club/group that has done several days of volunteer work at Noah's Ark, but unfortunately, the times they've done it, I've been out of town.
