Seeing as I just couldn't drag myself out of the house today to do the dreaded grocery shopping I decided to take the plunge and try something I've thought about doing for a few years now. I went on line and ordered my groceries through Peapod. They'll be delivered after I get home from work tomorrow night. I sure hope it works out! I'll let you know.

My daughter Sara used Peapod when Zac was born and until he was a year or so old and too difficult to fit into a grocery cart.

LOL Blu, I used going to get some groceries yesterday as a way to get out of this house and get some quiet time with myself.

I'm like SS, I rather enjoy grocery shopping, most of the time, anyway.

I've heard of this but never knew anyone personally who had used it.

The "Peapod" service is not available any where near me, Blu. But it sounds like a great idea for a busy working gal who would rather not have to go grocery shopping!!

I have always rather liked to grocery shop - as long as it is not on a Saturday when the place is full of kids!!!

There used to be a couple of stores in the Lansing area that offered home delivery but I think they quit. Altho, I do think that there is still a store that offers that kind of service to those living near MSU's campus. I think they'd not come out my way though!!

I think there is a need for this service mostly in the city for people who work or are not able to get out of the house. And we don't have an online service around here either but years ago there was a thing going around that was supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread. You could call an order in and you had to order a lot at one time. And the truck only came once in a while I don't remember if it was every week or every other week.. I guess it was a better deal if you go more people signed up......so everyone was calling us wanting us (we had 5 kids and they thought I would buy a lot I guess) to sign up but when it was all said and done.... you couldn't get the kind of things you wanted like maybe you wanted Charmin TP and all you could get is Northern, and it wasn't just one or 2 items and if that time we were paying .16 a roll for tp it was like .35 to get it delivered well needless to say that truck didn't waste to much time in our town .... it bombed big time I am not sure there is such a thing anymore....I mean the truck had to come out of Kearney which is way over 100 miles away I wouldn't carry my groceries that far myself......

The store in town will deliver groceries if we were in a pinch.....

I don't know if it was called Peapod or not but I did hear about that from NY city I think. There it may be a good thing.....
