I'll be working at the shop this morning and then I'll be home in the the afternoon. I'll clean out my frig so that I can make room to chill things down for tomorrow. I am having problems making a salad though. The only veggies the grocery store had in town that were fresh were tomatoes and celery and one green pepper. I had to ask for them to check if they had any tomatoes. I really wanted a cuke. I don't feel like driving 35 miles to get some fresh veggies. Perhaps there will be no salads tomorrow. LOL
We are having supper. I think a front will be moving thru and temps are supposed to moderate and we can use the deck. We will play some lawn games if the weather and bugs permit! LOL Then move over to DS's and shoot off fireworks. It doesn't get dark until after 10 PM now so it will be a LATE NIGHT! The shop is not open on Monday and that will be nice, perhaps we'll be able to SLEEP IN! LOL
I hope you all have a fun and safe Independence Day!

Hi Donna, that's a shame you can't find the veggies you want for a salad!
I agree it wiould be nice to have a garden.
I'd just cook & cool some elbow mac, then chop up those veggies, add with a dressing and take that. I have a bunch of tomatoes, but they are all green. But - I've had so many 14" cukes that have been given away - 2 people can only eat so many.
No big plans here for the weekend. The extended family are to the stage where they have plans with friends. Heat will return on the 4th, so I may skip watching the parade. Tradition for DH & I is to watch Jaws sometime this week.
If DH gets home in time, we need to drive 40 miles to look at a newer bike for him. His ancient Harley is very sick.

Just scoop out the seeds & pulp before you cube the cukes. Lemon juice or vinegar with oil (much safer than mayo), a little dried dill & garlic powder would be good. Sometimes I just put chopped dill pickles in this kind of salad for variety. You got crunch, chewy & color - what more can they want?

Oh Donna, it looks delicious!
