Our little town had their 4th of July celebrations yesterday (thank goodness...it was a much nicer day and evening)...it's drizzling tonight.
I went over to my cousin's house who lives on the lake in the neighborhood where I grew up and where we spent endless hours swimming and exploring during our summers together. Both her kids and their families were there so it was cousins everywhere! We had dinner around 5:00...pulled pork sandwiches, 7 layer salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, water melon and I brought cole slaw. All very yummy.
The fireworks went off around 9:30 over the lake...we sat on their dock...all of us...with tiki torches lit to keep the mosquitoes at bay. After the fireworks we retreated back to the house for apple pie, cherry pie, ice cream sundaes and Swedish almond cake....burp. A couple more cousins came down the street from my other cousin's house to say hi.
Such a great day and night...love it. I've attached a couple of photos I snapped of the lake and my cousin's house.

Blu sounds like a fun filled time.
Wow, beautiful pictures, good job on the photography!!!
What a fantastic day you had. I always envied you folks who lived on those suburban lakes. If I ever win the lotto, I'm buying one of those houses (minus the mosquitoes). Pix are fantastic.
Now I'm hungry from reading about all your goodies. Can you send some of that Swedish cake down our way??
