I have a new toy....

Yesterday evening Syl, her DH and DS took me out to dinner at Mitchell's Fish Market.  Great meal and wonderful company.  It was the beginning of my 69th b'day celebrating!!!!    For appetizers Syl had Blue Point oysters, Chris had a house salad, I had crab claws and Dorian had popcorn shrimp.  For dinner Syl had a whole lobster, baked potato, & asparagus; Chris had Pecan Crusted Whitefish with scallion mashed potatoes, skillet green beans, brown butter sauce; I had broiled Artic Char with scallion mashed potatoes, sweet shallot butter & vegetables and Dorian had chicken fingers & french fries.

I had a glass of Reisling wine - one of the few that I can stand the taste of and about half a glass of Poet Oatmeal Stout (dark beer) and an Arnold Palmer. Should have just stuck with the Arnold Palmer!!!!   Dessert was strawberry short cake with a scoop of vanilla icecream!   I cannot go to dinner with them very often or I'd be a blimp!!!

Any way ... the new toy ... a Roomba 530, that I have named George.  I charged him up and ran him today.  He got lost under my bed for about 10 minutes and I finally rescued him and move him to the other side of it!  Then he kept getting confused under the couch and chairs in the living room!  And his brushes and refuse container filled up and had to be cleaned twice!  I am not sure that having him won't be more work that it's worth!!!  I have to move things so he doesn't get cornered! But he does do a pretty good job.  It is just that I think I could get the job done with a lot less work with a good Shark vacuum!!   I'll see how it goes the next time I turn him lose!!!     Chris told me that if George doesn't work well for me he'll exchange him.  It really bothers me that they spent that kind of money on me, but I got shushed about that!!  Miss Molly was quite interested in watching him work, but not the least bit scared! She had bunches of fun shredding the wrapping paper that he came in though!

Today has been a slough off day for me, think I had a bit too much excitement last evening!

That dinner sounds fabulous Katie! Oh yummo!!! But definitely...burp!! That was like BB and me eating our way around No. IL and So. WI last weekend! It felt good to get back to my bran flakes and fruit smoothies and simple way of eating.

I've often wondered about the Roomba and if it would get stuck under stuff. Sounds like it would be great in an empty room! LOL Great that Miss Molly isn't afraid of it though. I think I'd rather have one of those H2O mops or a Shark steam mop I think. In any case, it sure was a very generous gift from Syl and her family.

Sounds like you're kicking off your birthday week with a big bang!!

Well, Blu, George doesn't really get "stuck" under anything - if he touches something he turns away.

We took about 2 1/2 hours over that meal, Karen and while it sounded like a "lot" the portions were reasonable in size so I could still walk when we left!!!

I am inclined to think that Miss Molly believes that George is a bit retarded, BB!
