I am new here, ttc #2. But I am not having regular periods. I did ovulate (July) according to an OPK. We BD'd the day B4 the day of & the 2 days after showing + on OPK test. My cycles have ranged from 28-37 days. I stopped taking BCP's (mini-pill) April 19, had a regular 28 day cycle in May. Then went to a 37 day cycle in June. I am 98% sure I ovulated both in May & June. I don't know if I should go see my OB/GYN to try to make my cycles regular & to know exactly when I ovulate to better our chances of ttc. anyone got any suggestions?? I took a HPT for "giggles" this week...of course it was Neg. I do have pains in pelvic & lower abdomen but I'm pretty sure it's from ovulating. HELP!

TIA (thanks in advance)

Hi there!

Welcome to the board. Everyone is so knowledgeable and friendly here. I would suggest waiting a couple more months for your body to adjust to being off the pill. Were your cycles regular before you were on the pill? The good thing is you know you're capable of getting pregnant since you already have a child.

I have irregular cycles rnaging also from 28-37 days. Charting and observing my CM helped me a lot with understanding my body. If you're interested in charting, www.fertilityfriend.com is a great tool to use on-line. I would also suggest the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It's great and very easy to read.

Good luck and I hope your stay is short and sweet.

Thanks for your reply. No, I wasn't regular B4 I got on BCP's, that's why I got on them. I've heard it takes a few months to a long while for your body to get back to "normal", but heck, I was never "normal" to begin with. I have read so much info about irregular cycle days that I don't know what to believe. I read somewhere that a menstrual cycle over 30 days is abnormal & should be discussed with a Dr. But somewhere else I read as long as your cycle is less than 40 days it's normal so I am "lost" on the subject. I am trying to find the TCOYF hard cover, I have heard it's really helpful. Thanks for the website, I will check it out.

Thanks Again,
