Hi - I am new here! I have done much research on TTC and was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes sperm to go from the cervix to the waiting egg. I know sperm live 3-5 days but how long does their travels take?

Thanks!

I beleive it takes 8-12 hours for sperm to -urgh- I can never remember what that process is called....something about the sperms undergoing a transformation to be able to penetrate the egg that takes 8-12 hours. As far as the time it takes to reach the egg...I would think it would happen with that 8-12 hour time. Here's an AWESOME website- the best and most thorough that I've ever seen- if you're into researching you'll like this one: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/miracle/program.html

GL to you!

Thanks for your help! Plus - thanks for the link considering I had thought I found every link known to man on the internet regarding pregnancy and conception. I am a baby website addict!

Thanks again!

Hi...Sorry I can't answer your question. I too am trying to research everything on TTC. Perhaps you could post a handful of links that you have found most helpful and informative? Or email them to me?

Thanks in advance!
