Hi gang! I posted this to the wrong board before so here goes...

Just wanted to check in and introduce myself. I have a wonderful 2 and a half year old after 9 months of trying after birth control. I'll be discontinuing the BC patch this Sunday in hopes of conceiving somewhere around end of August through November. I am a teacher, so conception for most of us is planned around summer vacation. ;) That's what we planned last time as well and I ended up delivering in December. =(

Anyhow, I wish all of you the greatest of luck and am sure you'll hear from me often asking question, *itching and venting, and sharing all my highs and lows. One thing I like about the boards is the sense of togethernesss throughout it all...there is always someone who knows.

Last time my frustration was that I was still pretty regular in 28-29 day cycles and had perfect ovulation symptoms I could read like clockwork. I am hoping this time around, even though I thought all of that was obvious last time, charting and being more careful will yield us a baby boy. This will be our last so we are hoping for a boy. If any of you know how to up the ante on getting a boy, I'll take all your wacky stories, knowing that all and all that it boils down to good old Mother Nature.

Welcome to the board, Shawn! I hope your stay with us is a short and sweet one~ ending with that big BLUE BFP! If you click on the link to FAQs at the top of the page that puts you through to our board website- there may be some helpful things there for you.

I beleive there is a theory of bding VERY close to "o" for conceiving a boy. The reason being that "female" sperm are slower and live longer while "male" sperm are fast and short lived. So don't bd until right before(like a day) "o" takes place- best to use OPKs for this, I would think. That's all I've heard!

GL to you!
