CM????

Hi,
I have a question, I'm pretty sure I "O" on Thursday. Does your CM dry up right away after "O". Or does it stay cloudy and sticky? I have looked on different websites but can't find a answer. I don't have a regular cycle and this is my first cycle trying. So I'm new at this CM stuff.
Thanks,
Kim

I suppose it's possible that every body works differently, but I was told (actually taught by a Billings Method (NFP) instructor) that on the day of ovulation the EWCM stops -- or at least you notice a definite decrease in the amount -- and the texture begins to change back to a more sticky, less stringy discharge. This is how you can pin-point the "O" day (this, of course, means you can't tell when you've ovulated until you have or ARE ovulating). The day before ovluation is when the EWCM is at its peak. As soon as you ovulate the CM changes back to creamy or sticky and eventually dries up (or, dries up to what's normal for you when you're not ovulating).
I've read posts on this boards from people who've said they've heard that continuing creamy CM -- especially yellowy -- after ovluate (6 - 10 dpo?)can be an early sign of PG, but I don't know much about that and may have my facts wrong. Maybe someone else can answer that question?
Anyway, I hope this helps!

Thank you Shawn and Kristin.
It's pretty nice that you can discuss you CM on these posts. Who would have thought that I would be asking for help on this stuff. It was definitely stringing on Thursday and Friday, and I also had the pain to go with it. Now it's just there cloudy and not stringing at all. It would be nice if it worked on my first cycle. It took us 7 months for our DD, I don't think I could be that lucky.
Thanks Again
And Good Luck to you both!!!!!!!
Kim
