I know you can get ovulation pains but it wouldnt be this late in the cycle would it

Hey Girlie,

You said that you just went off of bcp in June right? Maybe this can shed some light on this for you. Before I was on the pill my cycle was 28 days. I thought I would just get right back on schedule but I did not. My 1st cycle off the pill was 33, The next 32,the next 34. Sometime times it take anywhere from 3-6months. Sometimes longer for someone who has been on the pill for a really long time. Unfortunetly your body can play some really mean tricks on you when you come off of Bcp. Sore bb strange cramps etc. And sometimes you can o earlier or later than you thought because you are still adjusting to the hormones leaving your body. I started to chart my temps,CP and CM. I really reccomend doing all three b/c the temp lets you know that you have already o'ed and the CP and CM give you a heads up right before you o. Just hang in their if you start charting b/c it can be confusing the first month.

I was lucky enough to concieve on my 4 month off of the pill. Another thing AF symptoms and preggy symptoms are so similur that it can drive you crazy.

Good Luck to you and I hope that your stay is short and sweet:)

Hi,

don't worry! I was on the bcp for almost 12 years, and I started ttc in May! I, on the contrary, was extremely irregular before being on bcp, being regular at 28 days was a revelation for me at 17 y.o.. Now at 29y.o., going on 30, I have REALLY weird periods. First at 35 days, next at 29, last at 32... bcp will do that to you. A friend wasn't AF for 72 days when she stopped! My periods are now longer (2-3 days spotting, cramps and AF-but really dark and not very much-for 2 days, and then almost nothing for 2-3 more days), on bcp I had cramps, next morning got up with BIG AF, for 2 days, 3rd day was medium, and then over. But you can't compare AF on bcp and regular AF... Unless you're late for more than 5 days I wouldn't sound the alarm.

Let us know if anything else comes up! Hope this helped.

Gabie.

Thanks everyone, this time is so different TTC i already have 2 ds 8 & 6 (almost) and first month off BCP I conceived I guess age might have something to do with it too, Im 30 now (and I know Im not old, but maybe being younger when i conceived with the boys made it easier or different partner now too) I dont know its frustrating coz AF and pregnancy symptoms are soooo similiar, I never had symptons of AF on BCP cept for the morning of arrival (they were like clockwork lol) now I seem to be crampy, (but just on one side, same as last month i was cramping for 4 days before AF reared her ugly head) sore bbs, and feeling sick unless i eat regulary. Guess Ill just have to learn to be patient.

I with you there, sweetie. We've been ttc since March, when I stopped taking bcp. My af have been so erratic. I was going through weeks of wondering, am I pregnant? Am I just having weird hormones? My last cycle went 48 days. It was frustrating. But the others are right, bcp can mess up your hormones pretty bad. I'm going to tell you what I wish someone had told me five months ago...read Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Another person here said it too, to try charting, checking cm and cp, that kind of thing. Charting that stuff may seem silly or take the fun out of it, but it helps you keep track of what's going on in your body. By knowing your morning temp, you can figure out if you're pregnant or if you're even ovulating. It makes a huge difference and keeps the credit card bill for pregnancy tests to a minimum. Good luck!!
