Orgasm that is. I read a couple of articles that suggest that women should avoid having orgasms after ovulation until AF comes (hence you are not pg) or 2-3 weeks after they get a BFP. The thought is that theoretically the contractions in the uterus caused by orgasm could disrupt the early implantation process.

What do you think?

Hi,

I actually know for a fact that this is not true. Any contractions that your uterus may have are so small that they would have no effect at all on a fetus. If this was true you would not be able to have sex during pregnancy, or it would be well-known that you are not to orgasm during a pregnancy. My dr told me it is perfectly safe. My last pre-natal appointment I was 2 centimeters dilated and my dr told us to have sex b/c it could be possible that the sperm could help induce me. Something in them is supposed to help start labor. But sex and orgasm is perfectly safe. Unless you are high-risk or on bedrest. So this is something you don't need to worry about!!

This is an interesting question because it made me remember a show I was watching on TLC or the Discovery Channel. It was a show on sexual attraction or something of that nature. Anyway it was really interesting...they actually inserted a camera inside the woman to view what an orgasm looks like from the inside! You know what? The orgasms actually produced spasms in the cervical opening where you could see it dip and pull back in a pool of sperm, almost like it was suctioning it up!

I was totally amazed! Happy orgasming!

I actually heard that if you big O when TTC it helps if CM is good. It helps shoot the swimmers to where they need to go. What I read is that the big O must happen at the same Time or afer the man has his. Not before

No I know that you should go for it when TTC I am talking about during implantation. I ask because I would very much like to but being 5dpo, I don't want to do anything to jeopardize it. The REs tell GIFT and IVF patients to abstain because it interferes with implantation. I didn't know if it was the same for everyone else too.

I heard that you are not supposed to O while TTC unless it is at the exact same time as DH. Sounds like it's only true before BD'ng, but not after his??? Please help, my DH has been having all the fun the last 4 months! :-)

I've never heard anything like this before. I don't think it makes much sense -- look at all the unplanned pregnancies -- I'm sure those people kept right on rockin' after conception because they didn't even know they were pregnant. Also, if this is new data, how does one explain the 6 billion people on the planet?

Your body is designed to procreate, so it doesn't make sense that something that's natural and NEEDED for conception would suddenly then become harmful once the deed is done.

I think if this was a real concern there would be lots of information floating around saying so.

Just my 2 cents!
