Question about progesterone...

Hi everyone

I am slowly going into lurkdom here for a little while, but I have a question for you all first if you don't mind. Since I really think the primary reason for this m/c was low progesterone, I will be taking progesterone right after O when we are ready to TTC again. My DR has given me Prometrium pills and says I will take 2 a day. Get this... one orally and one INSERTED you know where!!! (Sorry, TMI!) I can't believe that I can insert a PILL!! Anyway - here is my question. When I was PG with DS, I took a progesterone suppository of sorts. It looked kind of like a tampon and I just shot it in (Sorry, graphic again) It was like a cream or foam or something. Does anyone know what this medication might be called? I am with a different doctor now who wants me to do this Prometrium. Since I know this other stuff works - I am thinking I might want to stick with it. I guess my DR might know too, but I'd rather just say "Hey, I want___ instead!!"

Thanks for any help!!

:) Maggie

Well I am not sure what that medicine is called but my RE put me on progesterone suppositories but they have to be made at a special pharmacy. They look like a hard piece of Crisco to be honest. But they are kept in the fridge and I take them twice a day and they are to be inserted. They are not a pill though. She has me on 100mg twice a day. I have not had any issues with these, so it maybe worth checking into.
