No ovulation?? CD 17....

I went to the doctor today CD 17 and he did an ultrasound and said that I am no where near ovulating, my follicles on both sides only measuring 9cm. He said I might need to go on clomid. When I asked if I might still ovulate on my own this cycle he said that I could possibly, but to not start OPK until CD 20.

I am so down about this. I am hoping I still might ovulate, my CM has just started to come around, past two days it started as tacky and is now starting to feel more slippery.

Does anyone have any advice? similar problems? feedback?

I need some input please.

Hi, jeanmegan. I have a little case of insomia this morning and I'm in a similar situation. I have not been to a dr, though.

I am on CD18 and have not O'd yet, although I am beginning to have all the signs. This is my 5th or 6th month charting and I have been 0'ing around day 20 each month. For the first 3 months I had a luteal phase defect (only 8 days.) However, I started B6 last month and increased my LP to 13 days for a 33 day cycle.

I have heard this late O can be a problem when ttc, but I'm optimistic that this is what is normal for my body. I'd give it another week to see if you O on your own. Sounds like you may be moving in that direction. Good luck!

You both should get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I just got it and it is full of information that has enlightened me on many subjects. I've been ttc for 2 months and am kicking myself for not gettting the book sooner. Hope this helps.

I just ovulated on day 35. Why do you need to go on Clomid? I have no idea of your cycle history but try not to be so quick to "intervene" on your body's behalf. Sometimes a dietary change and exercise can put on back on track. Our bodies are very sensitive and very much functional on their own most of the time. Some women just ovulate later than others, and it is perfectly normal.

Thanks for your replies . I think that I am noticing the signs of approaching ovulation, so I am going to try and remain positive. Do you know if people who ovulate later in their cycles, usually have a harder time conceiving?
