my husband really like to use food when we make love....fruit, whipped toppings, anything sticky etc... i'm wondering if this will somehow hinder our chances of getting pregnant? somehow damage the sperm, the acid in the food? i dont know....what do you think?

Ummmm......it's not actually getting up there, is it? I don't think that food up there would be a good thing to happen regardless of ttc. If not- it shouldn't hinder anything with conceiving.

Kinky!LOL!

Good topic and good for you guys having an interesting sex life!!!!!

If you are not tracking when you O, I would do that and refrain from using your "additions" during this time. The time you can conceive is a relativly short span 3-5 days so could you refrain from this during that time and do it when you are not on "baby days"?

I'm not an expert by any means but I'm sure there would have to be some sort of interference with the process, I mean the vagina/sperm situation is such a delicate balance that I wouldn't want you to throw it off in any way. They even say that saliva is bad, let alone fruit juice ;)

While on this subject... kinda.... is there any lube that is OK to use while ttc? I don't think our lube has any spermicide in it, at least I hope it doesn't! What is the active ingredient in a spermicide that people would want to avoid in lubes?

Pre-Seed (you will see it mentioned on this board) is the only "approved TTC Friendly" lube I think, but I've seen people post about getting pg using others... You would have to make sure they had NO spermacide in them though.

You want to avoid glycerine products, as well. Many people get pregnant while using those lubes (astroglide, KY, eros) but the only lube that is openly "sperm friendly" is "Pre-Seed". I just bought some off www.drugstore.com, but haven't tried it yet. It comes in 6 pre-filled tubes for $20, so it is expensive, but I've heard it's well worth it. You can make one tube last for 2 BD sessions if you use sparingly.
