Hi. I have always had a pretty long cycle. It ranges between 34-38 days. Last month though I had a 44 day cycle. I notice when I am more stressed out my cycles are longer.

My sister also has pretty long cycles like 40 days. She has 3 kids and I have 1 so I guess its not effecting ttc. It is hader for me to pin point O. And the 2ww is like 3ww.

I just wanted you to know that I feel your pain! My cycles are about 40 days long, and I know how frustrating it can be when you have to wait so long to O. I am on CD 24 and I am getting ready to O in the next couple of days. I think that it is completely normal, I've seen a few other posters who also have long cycles. I think that charting is our best course of action. It just sucks that we have less cycles in a year to TTC! Good Luck and don't worry!

Hope you get a BFP soon!

i know how you feel! my cycles are between 36 and 40 days apart and i have one friend who's already getting ready for O on her second cycle of ttc and I'm waiting for (well, not exactly) for AF to arrive. Long cycles are fine when I'm not ttc but when we are, the waiting is terrible! however, i do find that through charting and checking cm that I can identify ovulation better than just guessing. good luck!

Yea, I have to agree, long cycles SUCK!!! Mine are about 34-35 days each month (when I have them each month) and I usually O around cd 21-22 depending. I don't know if I am Oing on my own right now so next Monday I may get on Clomid the fertility drug. We have only been ttc #1 just this past cycle but if I am not Oing, Clomid will force it and it may also make me O a bit earlier in my cycle, that is what a lot of heard on other boards said when they had long cycles, the Clomid regulates the cycle much better plus you have the chance for larger, heathlier eggs to be released but that is where twins can come into play but my dh and I would LOVE to have twins and my doc is willing to give me the Clomid now due to my very irregular cycles.

I am not saying you should take Clomid for these reasons it can be a dangerous drug if not monitored (I have every intension using it safely and under my doc) but it can help to make a really long cycle like your more regular and shorter.

Something to think about. Also, are you sure you Oing each month? Have you pin pointed it by OPK or a fertility monitor? If so, what cd are you Oing on?
