Help? so confused!

Ok, i could really use some input here.

This is my situation. I am currently in my 4th cycle off BCP. My first two cycles were 35 days long and my last one was 39 days long. (that was my longest cycle ever) I am now on CD34. I do not chart, however, i do pay attention to my CM and CP. I had EWCM on CD22 thru CD26 and my CP was high, soft, and open on CD23. My CM is now sticky to dry and my CP is low, firm, and closed. BY all this i am guessing that i ovulated around the 8th (CD23), which would put me 11dpo today. I have heard about using OPKs as HPTs. Apparently if you use them every day and the test line gets darker every day or if you use it once and the test line is as dark or darker than the control line you are most probably pregnant. Also, they are supposed to detect pregnancy sooner than a HPT. so i tried using one on 8dpo and got a test line about 50% as dark as the control line, then i used one on 9dpo and got a test line that is just as dark as the control line. ok, so i used one just now (11dpo) and got a very faint test line. I used a HPT just now and got a BFN.

So, this is why i am so confused. if this process, indeed, does not predict pregnancy then it indicates i ovulated on what i thought was 9dpo! which will make my cycle 45 days long! (I have a 14 day LP) But then what about my cm and cp being fertile on CD22 thru CD26 and not fertile when i got the +OPK? Can you get a +OPK and not be ovulating?

And when should I expect my period? I am going crazy not knowing.

I hope you can make some sense out of all this. If you have any input please post. I would appreciate it.

Hi

From what I know... the OPT's will pick up a pg even if its chemical or a m/c. and therefore.. is not really that good to use.

I would think that maybe some women may ovulate more than once, I'm no expert. I do know that the opt's will pick up a pg way early.. so chemical & m/c are a possiblity.

I'd hold off on any further testin...hehe.. I'm going to start my opt's again on the 26th which will be 7dpo for me. I have 5 left.. and by the time they are gone.. I'll use up my pg tests (I have 5 of them)

Good Luck to you!!

BFP to everyone.. Chins up.. Legs open... and Butts high!!

Hello Jennifer! I have heard and read to trust your own body's signs more then an OPT because you know your body better then anyone or anything. However, based on the info in your post, you could could have o'd CD24 or CD25. Many times your peak day (the last day of EWCM) is the day after you o. However, your hubby's little guys are suposed to be able to live in EWCM for a day or three if you have a good amount of EWCM all of the days. Anyway, I wouldn't give up yet, you still may be preggo! I didn't get a BFP until 12dpo and the line was pretty faint, so when AF didn't show I tested again and the positive line was actually darker than than the control line! But, that was 2 days after my period was late.

Hang in there!
