Hello All, I am finally going to be a regular poster here. Have been on the fence about when to start TTC#3. FInally took the plunge yesterday with a single attempt that complies with Shettle Girl approach. BD on D16 hopefully 2.5 days before O. Now the wait for O AND AF! Best wishes to us all!

I'm right there with you. Tried two days ago on cd 13, I think I o'd today on cd 15 (cramps and all). Im on the two week wait now! I o'd a little earlier than I planned, so I only bd 2 days in advance, but 3 days didnt work for us the last few months, so maybe this will be it. Lotsa pink baby dust your way!!!

Hi! Thanks for your reply. So anxious to have someone to speak with about the shettles girl plan. I am very new to this, but read the book and have been charting while waiting to TTC. . After you BD do you just abstain until O, BD w/ protection or just fool around without intercourse? Sorry to jump right in with the intimate questions, I was just wondering about the no orgasm for woman - my least favorite part of the program. I didn't know if it meant no orgasm till after O, or just not at the day of BD. Any thing you learned from trying that could help me?

There used to be a gender determination board here, but can't find it anymore so I have no forum to ask questions. Do you know of any message boards related to this. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks so much!

Good luck to you. WIth #1 we BD about 4 days before O and our DS is almost 18 months. This time around, we are going to BD everyday so I do not become convinced obsessed about knowing the gender of baby early. Hope it works better for you!

Wow! A DS with 4 day cutoff? Oh well, the shettles thing is just for fun. I love having boys - but thought since we were planning anyway, I'd try to sway the odds. Thanks for the note. Do you know of any message boards dedicated to gender determination? Just wondering. Good luck to you!

You can imagine how convinced I was that I would have a girl with a 4- day cutoff! I had some mourning to do after the ultrasound (better then than after the baby is here). But I have come to adore the virtues of boys I was previously afraid of. I am now to the point that I do not care enough to try for a girl and decrease overall chances of conception. I would rather have another boy next june than a girl 2 years from now. But I am still (secretly) hoping for a girl. Good luck!

I do not know of any gender determination boards.

Hi all,

There is a genderdetermination board at Parentsoup.com. It is pretty informative, but the activity is rather slow. I am also playing with Shettles for a girl. I have a 13month old DS (not Shettles). I hope DH and I didn't BD too late this month for a girl. fertilityfriend.com indicated that I may have O'd on the 12th (CD14), so DH and I thought we were in the clear to mess around for fun on the 18th(CD20). Then that night I got some serious O pain and the next morning my temps were up. They have been high ever since. Oh well, we'll see what happens. I wouldn't be upset with another boy.

Hopefully all will work out for all of us and we will be seeing lots of pink next summer.

It is nice to have someone who understands isn't it? I actually emailed the parents place board to see how we can all get together and start a sex selection board up. I think we need it, everyone has so many questions.

I actually have been having the same issue with this method, but Im willing to try it, so hubby and I have been following all the rules (even the douching that they took out of the latest print of the book). Not having an orgasm is the worst part, by far. Hubby says "it takes all of the fun out of it" lol. I generally abstain from until after my o, its hard, but I think its best. We've given in and played around, but no intercourse, I dont want to give the boy sperm a chance! I have had orgasms in the days leading up, but waited at least 24 hours between BD and orgasm. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I figure the douch and the long wait has killed most of the boy sperm by that point. Its a topic I havent heard discussed before, so I don't know for sure, but thats what we've been doing.

Looking at my chart we too were somewhere between 2.5 and 3 days between bd and o. Seems like we both may be on track this month! When are you planning on testing?
