Hi Everyone, I was wondering does exercise

make it easier or more difficult to get pregnant?

AF finally came today after 41 days. I will be on

c3. I usully jog a mile and walk a mile almost every day.

I have heard that exercise could interfere with O. Does

anyone know for sure?

Hi,

I am not certain, however, I believe that exercise will only interfere if you have low bodyfat (below 17%). Your level of exercise sounds good as long as you are eating healthily & are at a "normal" (whatever that means these days) weight. Good luck!

The fact that you already have an exercise routine in place is great. From what I have read, walking would be fine, but jogging could put stress on your body that might interfere with fertility. How? I'm not certain, but it would work like any other stress. I also run/walk on a regular basis and have chosen to stop for now. For me, it's kind of like caffeine...a little is probably fine but why risk it. The best bet is probably to check with your doc.

Lots of luck,

Maria

I work out at the gym daily and I have actually spoken to my personal trainer, who is not just a young kid she's actually been in fitness for a while. I also spoke with my doctor. Excercise is fine during TTC, it keeps you healthy and also allows you to continue excercise while you're pregnant which is very healthy for you and baby. I wouldn't kill yourself but it is definately great to work those muscles!

Exercise can interfere with O, but typically in someone with extremely low body fat, or in someone who is exercising VERY intensely (i.e., Olympic training, marathon training, etc.).

Jogging one mile and walking one mile each day sounds very good for you, and is hardly what would be considered an overly intense workout. My advice: keep it up!

Good luck!

I'm currently training for a marathon and actually found out I was pregant with my third child while training for a marathon and running upwards of 20+ miles a day (not EVERYDAY of course, but once weekly) and had no problems conceiving. I just made sure that my calorie intake was adequate and I got the appropriate amount of sleep.

HTH,
