Increase CM...How? Green Tea? V-8 Splsh
| Mon, 09-22-2003 - 9:42pm |
I've heard women on the board speak of V-8 splash and Geen Tea and Robitussin to increase CM? Can anyone elaborate for me? Which remedy should I take? When should I start and what amounts should be taken? If Robitussin , please state exactly what "kind" I should take.
Something just dawned on me...last month I didn't have much cervical mucus at all. I had some...just a smaller amount than I normally do. I am wondering if that played a role in me not conceiving this past cycle? DH and I BD, 5 days before O, 3 days before O, and the day before O. Any suggestions on the above would be appreciated. marcy

I just went today to see my OBGYN and she said that all the "stuff" Robitussion and V8 is all a myth and it does NOT increase cm at all, it's a waste of money. I have a cm problem too as I have little to none every single month and wondered if something was wrong with me and I guess not everyone gets cm each month or it sits at the top of the cervix opening, you can check that by feeling with your middle finger. When your fertile you should be able to pull some cm down, I have some way inside but it's a very small amount. I just bought a product called pre-seed, it's a lubicant that a lot of women on this board along with the ttc board are using. It's a "sperm friendly" lube that aids the sperm in the same fertile environment that your natural cm does, it guides the sperm easier into the cervix opening and again, it won't kill the sperm like KY Jelly or saliva.
I tried Robitussion one month and it did NOTHING for me, a waste of money. Try this site for the lube if you've never heard of it, there is an 800 number (the other websites are on back order) but Drugstore.com might have some back in stock now but just in case here is the link to the manufacturer with their phone number. I just ordered some and it came to my house Fed-ex within 2 days! I have not used it yet but the girls on both these boards rave about it and us girls, without cm or little to speak of, they say this stuff is a god send.
HTH. Feel free to ask any other questions, comments.

Your so awesome to take the time out and write me a response to my questions about Robit., geentea and v8splash. I don't like messing around with stuff that did sound like "pie in the sky" kind of stuff.
Anyways, I will try to get Preseed, at drug store.com. if no luck there where should I turn? Any other alternatives to getting that stuff? Would maybe my local Walgreens have it? Thanks Again, Marcy

You're so sweet, no problem at all! If Drugstore.com is back-ordered again (I don't think it is anymore as some of the girls told me it's back in stock) you can try the 800# of the manufacturer I forgot to post on my first post to you...sorry. Here's the link, this time with the actual number: http://www.ingfertility.com/sub.aspx?id=3098
Your local drug stores do not sell this product only Drugstore.com and the actual manufacturer!
Again, good luck to you! Feel free to e-mail any more questions you may have. Glad to help.

I think the green tea just flushes impurities out of your system.
I don't know what V-8 is supposed to do.
I know that a B-50-complex will lengthen your lp so that if you do get pg then there is more time for the little beanie to burrow in.

As for the type to buy, any brand where Guaifenesin is the only active ingredient is fine. Dosage is 2tsp 3x daily for a week before O. HTH!

DH and I are using preseed this month for the first time, and really like how it feels. The box comes with six single dose vials... kinda expensive, but if it does the trick, then great!
You insert the vial in your (woohoo) and squeeze the contents... some recommend waiting ten minutes before BDing, others start right away.
.. and as for V8Splash... it's loaded with Vitamin A, and supposed to increase the ammount fo CM. I haven't tried it, but have heard many women in the boards that say it really helps.

making sure that you are not taking anything that could "dry" you out like antihistimines, or other meds, etc is very important.
while i trust the advice of my doctor, they dont know everything, so i take their advice but always do my own research also...
