Back from the doctor...

The colposcopy was painless. For some reason I remember it being much worse the last time. But hey, I'm not complaining! LOL!

The doctor wasn't at all concerned about having the procedure done while ttc or even pregnant. I was glad to hear it.

After the appointment I asked him some questions about my BBT and how I will have a positive OPK and other fertile signs, yet my temps don't reflect O. He ordered bloodwork tomorrow to test my progesterone levels to confirm ovulation. I'll have to wait a week for the results though. Then he wants to see my charts in three weeks to see if he can figure them out. I will know by then whether or not I got pregnant this cycle... if I did, we just won't look at my charts!

I also asked about the possibility of my heated waterbed masking any temperature shifts and he said that was unlikely.

So I am now patiently waiting to see what my tests say and what can be done about it. I hate waiting.

Hi Sharon? What's a Colposcopy done for? Is it something to treat infertility? I've never heard of it before. Sorry if it's too personal and if you don't want to answer that's ok.

Nothing's too personal on this board! Actually, it's done when your pap smear comes back abnormal. The doc looks through a microscope for abnormalities of the cervix then takes a biopsy if necessary. It has nothing to do with fertility. This time I had one biopsy taken. Last time I think there were three... which may have had something to do with it being a bit more uncomfortable. My doctor tends to err on the safe side. He said I probably didn't need it, but he'd prefer to be safe rather than let it go and have it be more serious.
