Just a quick question for you ladies...is it true that a woman shouldn't orgasm when TTC or is it the other way around?

I'm not sure of the statistics...but I have heard that if you are ttc a girl you shouldn't orgasm? (or you should "go" first!) don't quote me tho...as I am not 100% sure!!

Apparently for TTC a girl you shouldn't have an O because it changes the your vagina's PH. But you should for a Boy. But they say that you should O after you partner does because it pushes the sperm further. But in the end, I think you should have fun and do what you want ;)

What I've read is that it is helpful to O when TTC because it causes the cervix to open up more. I'm going to be happy with whatever baby I get, so I don't pay attention to the stuff about conceiving a boy or girl!

Yeah, I've heard an orgasim is helpful b/c of the cervix and the muscle spasms of the uterus pull in sperm.

And, after O the conditions

Well, I'd have to say the whole dont orgasm if you want a girl is kind of silly.

I am pregnant with a girl, and I made darn sure I finished every time. Of course, I know that the experts mean there's a greater chance of it, but still. What I'm saying is nothing is ever 100%

The supposed experts, whoever these people are, we just read about them on here, but they're never really named

say that the woman is supposed to orgasm preferably at the same time as her partner or near abouts. That way the cervix scoops the sperm up into it.

But, I never finish at the same time as my husband (ahem, I have to help myself along)

I'd say yes have an orgasm if possible. But it won't hurt or hinder your chances if you don't.

Hi there,

I think having an orgasm is helpful because I read it helps push the sperm further up.

My DH and I conceived our daughter with 1 try (1 intercourse) and I had a orgasm. Of course it was around the time I ovulated.

This time we are trying the same thing and hope we are able to get pregnant as easy as last time. Right now I am 3DPO and the waiting is making me crazy.

Good Luck!

Amazingpregnancy.com says:

Enjoy the lovemaking process. Studies show that when women orgasm, it creates an alkaline state in the vagina that sperm prefer over the normal acid conditions. If you have an orgasm at the same time or shortly after your partner ejaculates, it increases the opportunity for sperm to survive the trip to the cervix.
