Messed up hormones/provera/cd 61 ?'s

Alright so the discussion title might show I'm a little confused. I am currently on cd 61. Usually have 35 or 36 day cycles. My question really is geared more towards the hormone aspect of a 61 day cycle. I have a prescription for provera which I can take. I'm debating on taking it because I'm worried it might further mess up my hormones. My ob is such a quack or I would've asked these questions to her. She tells me not to chart and that I shouldn't worry about all these little details so basiclly she makes me feel stupid for asking so many questions. Needless to say I need a new doctor. But for the time being I'm lost. I know I can take this provera and I should get AF but will I just then be forcing AF and not be getting my hormones back on track? Do you know what I mean? I really don't know how to ask my question the right way. I'm afraid I might just take the provera, get AF and be stuck in the same boat next cycle. Will the provera kick start my hormones again? Has anyone every taken the provera and had their regular cycle back the next time or taken the provera and needed it again the next cycle? Or even better has anyone ever taken provera and gotten a BFP the next cycle? I just feel so hopeless. When I wasn't ovulating until cd 23 or so I felt bad enough, but at least then I ovulated!!! Please someone, is there any hope for me? Where should I go from here? TIA

I know exactly what you mean. I had three cycles off the pill and then no af since Sep. My dr. just prescribed me provera to induce af. At this point I am going to take it since it has been so long since af, but I do know what you mean about how it actually solves the problem. My dr. had no answers as to why I am not Oing, since my hormone levels all came back just fine, all very normal. For you, you may be just experiencing a skipped period, which happens and probably isn't too much to be concerned about. I have also thought long and hard and am going to take clomid once af comes, I don't think I can keep waiting to O as this cycle is over a hundred days so far! Have you thought about clomid if your cycles continue to be long/irregular? My dr. prescribed it to me pretty easily.

O.k., so I have done lots of research on this, and I have a little experience in it myself.
