I've been using the Answer 20 pack, but have been using FMU. I had no idea I wasn't supposed to be doing that! I'm not sure if I'm getting accurate results because of that. I bought them because they were reasonably priced in comparison to the other brands, at least where I looked. Because I think I'm approaching ovulation, I wanted to buy another brand to compare. What do you recommend?

Since I've been have been struggling with OPK's for the past 3 cycle I thought I would share my experience.

I started off using the Answer 20 pack too and got a clearly positive OPK back in October '08. Since the Answer strips can only be used for one month after being opened and my cycles tend to be long (33-35 days), I decided to order a combo pack of OPK's and HPT's from early-pregnancy-tests.com because they were very inexpensive.

Well, I did not see a single positive OPK for 3 cycles, and I chart so I was sure that I had still O'd. This cycle I broke down and bought a First Response pack of 7 (standard not digital). I took the first two days ago and it was not quite positive... but close. Meanwhile the internet test was still very negative.

I came to this board and found a couple of other ladies who said the internet OPK's didn't work for them either. It helped to know I was not alone in this. Yesterday, I used the same sample to test with both FR and internet OPK's. The FR test was clearly positive while the internet brand was still negative!

I have heard that WalMart has a generic brand of OPK which works well and is less expensive. The women who responded to me both liked Clear Blue Easy (can be purchased from ebay). Our Dollar Store only carries HPT's so that isn't an option for me.

HTH and Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes that was great, thanks. I have been reading a lot of things, enough to make me avoid the internet tests. I just decided to try the Clearblue Easy digital tests with the smiley face, so I don't have to give myself a headache analyzing the pink lines. I like the idea of comparing two tests with the same sample.

I buy internet cheapies. They work great, and they're the cheapest I've found anywhere. I get a 25 pack for $18, plus
