No dominant follicle? Help!

Today is cd13 and I went in for a transvaginal ultrasound. The doc said I have a normal amount of follicles and no visible problems (like cysts, endometriosis, fibroids, etc). But he was very concerned about the fact that I'm showing absolutely no hint of ovulation. In other words, I don't have any dominant follicles. He seems to think I'm having an anovulatory cycle, but he wants me back there in 7 days. I told him that I normally O late, like around cd18 or later sometimes, but he said there should still be something more going on in my ovaries by now. I'm trying to tell myself that it's just because I'm probably o'ing extra late this cycle, since I've o'd as late as cd 26 before. But now he's showing concern over my short lp as well, which can't be a good sign.
Do you think I'm right, that it's just too early in my cycle for a follicle to become dominant? Or would it show up by now even if I'm not due to O for nearly 2 more weeks? Any advice or answers would be great!
Thanks in advance for your help!! :)

I really can't offer much help, but wanted to say, I love your "relaxing doesn't cause pregnancy" blinkie!

FWIW- I'm on clomid & usually don't O til cd 17/18, but at my cd 13/14 u/s they do usually see 1-4 follies that are bigger than the rest w/1 usually being the biggest. I do have a short lp, but my doc gave me prog supp's which have helped lengthen it. Hope you get some answers soon.

Oh gosh, do I know how stressful the follicles are! I don't have a ton of advice, but just wanted to share that I had a similar experience this cycle and didn't end up o'ing until CD23, even while on Clomid days 3-7. I had a total of 5 ultra-sounds done in the month and every time my RE would say, "It doesn't look hopeful but let's check again in 4 days). We went in about every 4-5 days for 4 scans, then on CD20 I FINALLY had one follicle out of 11 that decided to grow - it was between 14 and 15, and by the time I went in 4 days later, it had already ruptured. Two days after that we started Prometrium 200mg per day, to hopefully lengthen out the LP....definitely ask about that, too.

So, I won't know until the end of this week whether or not all of those u/s's were worth it, but I just wanted to tell you not to give up hope. Temp, use opk's, and REALLY watch your signs so you don't miss your O!!! ;)

Thank you both for your quick replies! It makes me feel better hearing your story, Michelle. I'm hoping that my follicles will finally decide to grow. I show an O pattern on most of my charts (some are iffy, but I'm not the best with keeping a constant wake-up time) so I can't imagine that I'm not o'ing at all. But if you went from no activity to a ruptured follicle in about a week, that makes sense that I wouldn't have a dominant one yet. I have asked about something to lengthen my lp, but he wants to talk about that at my next appt. Hopefully by monday, one of those little follies will show some domination! ;)
Good luck this cycle! A bfp would be the best reward for all those oh-so-comfy ultrasounds!

Good luck, Jackie! I have a feeling I might be out this month, but the Prometrium keeps my temps up so I won't know for sure until this weekend...the waiting is KILLING me!

I'll send you lots of BIG follicle vibes this weekend and keep my crossables crossed for you!

Other than ovulation late at times, do you have any other symptoms? Do you get dizzy a lot? Do you have thinning hair at the scalp? Do you have more of an apple shape? Extra hair growth? I'm just asking because if that's the norm, you might want to ask your doctor about PCOS.

Nope, no symptoms of pcos. Our main issue is actually severe male factor infertility. The lack of dominant follicles was a shock even to the doctor! Thanks for the suggestion though! :)

I had the same issue when we TTC the 1st time. The 1st cycle I had plenty of mature follicles, and we didn't get preggo. My issue is that I have
