I have a question. I have been doing the ovulation kit for about a week now. I have been trying to do it around 4 or 5pm when I get home from work and I do what the says, no drinking or using the restroom for at least 4 hours before taking the test, yet it keeps coming up negative. Yet when my fiance and I are trying I can tell my cervix has moved becuase after AF visits it hurts for a few days and then around the time I am suppose to ovulation it doesn't hurt yet the ovulation kit has been negative the whole time.

Hi Pink Pixie,

Yes, it is possible that the brand of OPK your using doesn't work for your body.

I had 3 cycles using the OPK's from early-pregnancy-tests.com where I never had positive test (as dark or darker than the control line). I was charting too, so I was sure that I was O'ing.

This month I purchased a pack of First Response OPK's (standard not digital) and tested with both using the same pee sample. Well FR gave me a clear positive yesterday and the day before while the internet strips were negative (test line lighter than the control).

I posted on this board and found some other ladies with similar experiences. You might consider switching brands of OPK's as they clearly are not all created equally!

HTH and best of luck!!!!!!!!

Yes! At least I think so anyway. I've never had one that has showed that I'm about to O (I've tried 3 different brands). I had an IUI today...so I KNOW I'm O-ing and the test this morning still only showed a very faint line...not the dark bold line like they say. Yesterdays stick didn't show a line at all. I just don't think they work for my body. Maybe try a couple of different brands or try doing it first thing in the morning. Or, just get really good at charting! :o)

Best of luck to you!!! Let me know if you find a brand that works! :o)

I'm 38 and have been trying to conceive since July 2008. I had my first IUI with Femara on Feb 4th and AF (the meanie) showed up. Try and try again! :o) I was lucky enough to find my Mr. Perfect 2 years ago and we have 2 goofy but lovable pups! :o)
