?? on Soy Isoflavins

Hi all! So...I'm still waiting to O this cycle... I'm on CD29. I should O very soon judging by my cm but I was just wondering if you guys could tell me about Soy Isoflavins...I think that's what it's called. Anywho..I've heard that it can move up a person's O date by a little bit and was wondering what they are, how they work, and where you get them. Thanks in advanced! With luck I may not need this info if I get pregnant this cycle but chances are that I will need to try them. Baby Dust to all and I can't wait to hear what you all have to say.

I took Soy Isoflavons one cycle... my BFP cycle.

Like Mika, I too took isoflavones one cycle...and got pregnant with this baby!
I took 160 mg CD 5-9. I didn't know too much about the dosing so I decided to start with that and then go to 200 the next cycle if I didn't get pregnant.
GL to you, whatever you decide to do! :)
Thank you to Tanya (Tanya08) for my gorgeous siggy!

Hi Andrea,
I was meaning to post on this topic but had a very busy weekend so no time. I took 180mg of soy isoflavones this cycle from cd5-cd9, and it moved my O date forward by 2 days. (I usually O around cd20 but this cycle it was cd18.) Still in the 1ww so not sure of the outcome.
I have read that taking it earlier in your cycle (cd3-cd7 for example) can help move your O date forward even more. I am not sure if it is true, but I have read that. Soy isoflavones are a phyto-estrogen (much weaker than our own estrogen) which can attach itself to receptors in the brain and trick the body into thinking it needs to produce more estrogen. This also increases production of FSH and LH.
Good luck with it and best wishes for a speedy BFP.

Hi Michelle,
The first day that you have full red flow and need to use a tampon or pad is considered cd1. Spotting should not be counted unless it becomes this during the course of the day. Soy isoflavones need to be taken for 5 days at the beginning of your cycle similar to Clomid. They can be taken before bed to avoid headaches/hot flashes.
Taking them on cd3-cd7 or cd5-cd9 are both popular, but there are other options.
HTH and best of luck if you decide to try them.

Hi,
I am not sure which herbs help to induce AF, but I am certain there are some that exist. Personally, I would recommend going to your doctor, and he/she will probably put you on Provera. You take it for 14 days and then your period starts. (I've had to take it before as well.)
You also might want to check with your doctor if you've been having this spotting for awhile with no AF. Vitex works great for some women and not at all for others. In some women, it can throw off their entire cycle.
Soy isoflavones are supposed to work like a natural form of Clomid, so it would seem logical that they "could" increase the chance of multiples (especially in someone who already has twins). Talking to an herbalist or acupuncturist should help if you are thinking about taking herbs to enhance fertility.
Good luck!
