I avoid alcohol, caffiene, junk food (as much as possible), OTC meds (except tylenol if I really need it as it's safe during pregnancy, baby asprin as it's actually been linked to helping pregnancy, and my Zyrtek), and I stay away from people who smoke. I think I've had maybe six alcoholic drinks in the almost 16 months we've been trying. As a general rule I don't take any meds unless I need them other than my vitamins. I do take Zyrtek everyday and I spoke with my doctor about it she said it's ok to take while pregnant too which is good because I would be so incredibley sick if I didn't take it and keep my allergies under control. They are really severe.
sorry kinda got off on a tangent there. oh well! :)

I've seen that alot of women tend to give up caffeine, alcohol, etc more in the 2 WW.
The only thing I really gave up was ibuprofen. I was taking it a lot before due to TMJ but I had read that it can effect fertility so I've switch to Tylenol. Now I'll just do ibuprofen occasionally if I get a bad migraine. I already don't drink caffeine or alcohol so I'm good there! :-)
Anyone wouldn't happen to have an article on how caffeine and alcohol may effect sperm? I'm concerned about that. DH drinks a lot of caffeine. Drinks alcohol occasionally but when he does drink he goes all out, if you know what I mean....thanks!

All I do is reduce caffeine and alcohool but don't give it up completely....and I don't take ibuprofen in the 2WW.

I can't find much on caffeine, but did find a reference to alcohol in this article:

It basically says that excess alcohol (among other things) can have a direct effect on the formation of sperm.
I guess the idea is don't over do it.
