We are going on our 6th month of TTC and I am 36 yrs old.
Thanks for the info.
It really depends on the RE, we didn't have to wait at all because we had the VR and the surgeon who did it refered us, so we went for the basic consult.
Since an SA is the least most invasive form of infertility testing, it's usually recommended to get it done right off. Also, being 35, I'm sure you'll be able to start infertility testing at the 6 month mark.
My DH had an SA in October of last year. My OB/Gyn actually ordered it. He sent us home with a cup and instructions. DH did his business in the cup and delivered it to a local fertility clinic. As it turns out, our insurance didn't cover it, but it still ended up only being $40. We were able to figure out right away that our problem getting pg was actually him. He had less than 1% normal sperm. After some serious diet changes and a daily regimen of vitamins and supplements he was tested again and his numbers were in the low range of normal. As you can see, we were eventually able to conceieve (about 6 months later)!
Talk to your OB/Gyn or RE and they can give your DH the proper referral. GL!! I hope you see that BFP soon!

As Stephanie mentioned above, an S/A is super easy. DH's is scheduled for next week and given that I've become a pin-cushion and poked and prodded (and will continue to be) it's the least he can do! But in all seriousness, I had my Ob-Gyn order it. He actually suggested it during my first visit with him to talk about ttc. (I was referred to Ob from my primary care doc.) It really was that easy, and I would like to think that your provider would want to do something easier and less invasive right away.

Currently Cycle 4 Post-BCP ~ Clomid 50mg CD5-9
Upcoming: SA 6/10 ~ HSG 6/11
I'd get the testing done now.
do it right away....they usually want at least 2-3 SAs
