Multiple days of +OPKs....confused.

This has happened to me a few times. This cycle I only had 2 positive OPKs, but a few cycles ago I had three. What does that *usually* mean for your ovulation day? My doc told me to go by the first one, because usually once the surge appears you will ovulate within 24 hours. What happens when you have positive after positive?

It is very possible that this cycle I tested twice within a 24 hour period...but when you get three or four days in a row of positives, what gives?

Cycle 1 - BFN. Diagnosed with PCOS.
Day 3 Blood Work - Appears to be normal, with slightly high prolactin. Must re-do next cycle.
Cycle 2 - DH's s/a came back normal. BFN - AF arrived early.
Cycle 3 - Day 3 Blood Work re-do is normal. Could not do HSG...long story. Have an appt. with the local fertility genius in mid-May. O'ed early, no chance for a BFP this cycle, which was my first 28 day cycle in YEARS!!! woo hoo
Cycle 4 - Day 3 b/w is normal yet again. Back to my usual CD 19/20/21 O day. Using CBEFM and OPKs, not temping.

What are you considering a positive?

Thanks for sharing that.

In response to your question about what am I considering a positive, I only use digital OPKs to avoid the confusion with the lines. So I'm talking about multiple days of smiley faces. LOL.

Hi thanks for the reply. I know that it's totally normal to get multiple days of + OPKs, I'm just wondering where in there you actually do ovulate. I guess I'm going back to temping next cycle, it's the only way to be sure I suppose.

Hey, I always get three days of OPKs (this is my second cycle) - I think that's in the norm. You surge, and then that surge remains in your urine, but you actually ovulate 24-36 hrs after the FIRST surge.

Thank You!!!!! So, I will most likely ovulate within 24-36 hours of the FIRST smiley face. Gotcha.
