Hello -

I have hit my limit of being able to handle this myself and would like any support or thoughts you all can offer.

While I haven't gone through your exact situation, I have and am still going through something similar. DH and I have been trying for 18 months to TTC our first. I'm 21 and he's 24. So it's not an age thing. I was ovulating sporadically after coming off the pill but then suddenly stopped and at that time I stopped getting my period. I went for 5 1/2 months with no period. Finally I went to the doctor she did

I think I can answer at least one of your questions. Yes ultrasound can show if you ovulated or not. The best ultrasound is intravaginal, they can tell if it was not to long ago. I know because I went to my doctor to see if I am ovulating. Another thing I can say is clomid can make you regular and you may have more chances to get pregnant, but it also has some side effects so if you will decide to go with clomid make sure speak to your doctor about all possible side effects. I took it and it was giving me hot flashes and one of my friends had severe nausea, but as I said we all different and you should talk to your OB about it. What ever you decide I wish you the best.

don't give up!
i think that you can get your cycle back on track within 3 months. I am a naturopathic doctor and help with fertility for many patients. i would start you on a combination of herbs and acupuncture. at the very least, start taking vitex as a tincture or dried in capsules. it will regulate your cycle.

to find an ND:

also, have you been charting? track your morning temp and cervical fluid to see if you are cycling, that way you don't have to reply on an ultrasound.

best wishes!

I have been in a very similar situation. I conceived DD while on the pill, so I figured getting pg with #2 would be a snap. Boy was I wrong! After a few months I stopped ovulating. I had 90 days straight with no ovulation, no period, nothing. I saw an Ob/Gyn at an office that also dealt with infertility, that was I would be sure to get some help. I learned that what I had was called "secondary infertility" because I already had one child. With SI they will begin infertility testing after just 6 months of TTC. The Dr immediately started me on progesterone to jump start my period, then I began Clomid. (We also learned that DH
