Question about testing early
| Mon, 08-17-2009 - 4:12pm |
When tests say that they can detect the pregnancy hormone up to 5 days before your expected period, is that based upon the average 14 day LP? I have a 16 day LP, so today I'm 11 DPO but still 5 days before my expected period, not the "average" 3. Hope I'm explaining what I mean. Is it possible that women with a longer LP implant later, too? Any insight would be appreciated!
Thanks,

That is absolutely right....5 days before assumes a 28 day cycle. if you o'd on CD 16-17, then you should test on CD 28 (11dpo) which would be 3 days prior to AF. And if you look at the directions in the box, they break down the chances of a positive on each day. I think 5 days before AF is due is probably not a likely result, but it CAN happen. With all my pregnancies (2 DS's, 3 angels) I got a positive on 11dpo.
Best of Luck and I hope that helps.
Hmmm...I hope that's the reason why I got a BFN this morning.
