Positive Urine Test&Negative Blood Test?

Just got back from the ER. I had went because my stomach was hurting badly after a bowel movement (turned out to be a hemorrhoid).

While I was there they decided to test for pregnancy since we've been trying to conceive.

My period is due tomorrow. I couldn't urinate. So they took the blood test. Then, they put in a catheter for a urine test, too.

The doctor came back and told us the urine test was positive. We were thrilled. He sent me for a ultrasound.

Then, the doctor came back and said the blood test was negative.

Of course he said I should see if my get my period tomorrow and take a urine test at home in a week.

My husband and my mom were there with me. We went from on top of the world to upset.

I wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else? Is it possible that I am or that I'm really not?

We've been trying for over a month. And this past month we have been "active" everyday.

Well, did the ultrasound show anything on it? Or did they not do it because the blood test showed up negative?

Makes me wonder if they did a qualitative or quantitative blood test.

I am sorry you're going through this. But, if your period doesn't show tomorrow, like the doctor said take another test in a week.

The lady who did the ultrasound said she may have seen something and showed it to me on the monitor, but wasn't so sure cause i could be 1 or 2 weeks. She also used the probe/ultrasound thing after that and she checked my ovaries which looked okay. She said something about my endo walls thicking and i "believe" she said they do that right before a period and at the beginning of pregnancy, "i think". i was so excited that i wasn't worried about the details at the moment. during the ultrasound i was under the impression that the blood test was positive and urine negative (but she was wrong telling me that which i later found out when i returned back to the doctor of the ER after the ultrasound). i had no clue there was 2 different types of blood tests at the time. if i had known i would have asked.
