I keep getting "error" messages from internet explorer while on the web. I click yes to send the report & then after that it just goes off on me & goes back to the desktop. I also get "can't display page" & I have to click backward & then to to the site agin & it's fine. I don't have viruses on my computer & I have up to date protection. Any help would be appreciated.

What have you got running on your system while you are trying to surf? Pop up blocker? Spybot Search and Destroy, any bars like Google bar, Yahoo bar or others? Call Wave?

Have you emptied your temp files? Have you changed any settings in Tools at the top of the page? Changed any security settings?

Sometimes it is just something simple like turning off a program or cleaning out the temp files. Let me know if you may have changed things or is someone else is on your computer that could have changed a setting.

I do run disk cleanup every night before I turn off my computer. I have netscape pop up blocker & I have norton security & antivirus. All of the settings seem fine. I don't see anything different.

When you send the error report to Microsoft, you will get back a reply or acknowledgement window.

Try pressing the "more details" button or "view report" before pressing the "OK" or "Continue".

this happens to me as well not all sites just some. One is this site here everytime I log on to reply, due in fact to a security setting I have between my firewall and DMZ. I lower it to login and reply then turn it back on when I log off. The next issue is that some sites want you to run certain programs when visiting their sites, which means finding out what additional software needs to be loaded on your PC to view these sites.

This has been happening to me for quite some time and I have put off writing, just hoping someone else would be writing about it. It happens to me when I click on a link to go to another site from the one I have open. More often, on CNN AM Quicknews when I click on "full story." I have clicked on REPORT many times and have never gotten an answer from Microsoft. Like the first writer, I can go around it and open the site on a second try. It has been going on for a couple months and I haven't a clue what change I might have made. It was before I downloaded Norton's System Works 2004. My OS is Windows XP.

I checked my computer settings & firewall settings & I can't find a problem. I think my browser has a problem & don't know how to fix it.

I've had a problem with internet explorer, too. Mine kept giving me "page not found" errors. I know the pages are working but once I did my last windows update, it started. Ivillage was one of the sites that I just could not access. I ended up switching browsers. I downloaded Mozilla. That was about 6 months ago. Mozilla even has a built in pop up stopper. I love it! I wouldn't go back to internet explorer if you paid me.

I was considering changing my browser to netscape 7.1 Theres things I can't do online that I was able to do before. I can't look or do anything with sites that require micromedia flash player.

Because most webmasters know that most of the surfers use IE that are what sites are geared for. If I am not mistaken Mozilla has a couple drawbacks because of this too. Mozilla is built on the Netscape base and may be a better choice for a second browser. There is no law that says you can't run 2 different ones anyway.

Sometimes reinstalling IE will help with problems too. Isn't it funny that some people have problems with something and others don't?

Also the reviews of MyIE2 have been pretty good too. http://www.myie2.com/html_en/home.htm

Also with the SP2 there are going to be some fixes that may or may not help IE...... http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/newsroom/winxp/WindowsXPSPFS.asp
