My computer came with 6 months of MSN free and I just uninstalled it, I use my phone company as my isp. I find that those things like the free AOL disks you get in the mail or whatever, once you install that and find that it isn't what you want it can be hard to get off your system.....Janet
Most of the people I know use either MSN or Yahoo messengers but I have a couple friends that still use ICQ and one that will not use anything but AIM. We have been working on her though....lol......I downloaded Trillian and I can talk on all of them with that. I just got an AIM account and then opened up Trillian and talk to her. Kind of neat. I think the next MSN will be able to talk to others too.
If you are not using AOL now it should be easier to get rid of, I suggest that you do a Search on Google on removing it there are many people who have done it. Janet
I've found it easiest to just use the AIM, since the rest of my coworkers use it as well, and I sometimes send them saved IM transcripts (I work for iVillage).

You don't need AOL to use AIM.
