Good Morning!   I have always had Smiley Central on my computer and have tried to download it to my new computer only to have Spybot give me a virus alert.   Trojan horse Dropper.FunwebA.  I kinda like Smiley Central!?  :((   Is there an obvious way around this.

A quick update.    All my problems with the new computer were between the new computer, the router and log in details with my internet provider.   Things are working just fine now and both computers should be up and running properly by the end of the week.     I can't believe we hired someone to avoid any of these kinds of problems............................................

Thanks for you help,

      Hilary

So many of these sites that offer anything for free - and apparently some NOT for free do the same - and make us so eager to have things like an endless supply of smilies and fonts and stationery, etc., I sort of compare them to adorable little puppies you just HAVE to have!!! They're just so darned cute, you know? - you have to take them home. And then you get them home....and they start to pee on the carpet and chew up the sofa and drag a streamer. of t.p. thru the house. I've pretty much become paranoid about downloading much of anything anymore, because every time I do I start finding Comet Cursor and Gator remnants again, and once you have those, guaranteed you have a bunch of other vermin that came attached to it. I think sometimes I fried our first home computer with all those fonts, I was addicted - I had Comet Cursor, Comet Cursor, Comet Cursor everywhere - I've gotten so sick of it I want to puke! I always wonder why things like Comet Cursor don't show up in your list of programs on your computer - with those you just un-install them and they're gone. Comet Cursor gets attached like super glue, I've never been able to wipe it out, it sneaks its way on.

How to tell the "good" from the "bad"

  • There's no free lunch

  • You get what you pay for

  • Nothing in life is free

and Enter at Your Own Risk ;-)

When it comes to my computer(s) - I pretty much follow the rules above.

Thank you, these are cute smileys and if they want to sell more than one they are going to be clean (no junk in them) I know you can't pay for everything that is offered but when you want a cute program it just good to go ahead and pay for it.

I use OE stationary and I get mine from reliable places, and I have a program to make my own but can't make heads or scratch paper out of it.......lol..........Thanks again.......Janet

Have a nice day !.
