Hi, Thanks t o everyone who replied..I have checked out cnet.com and I did look at quite a few models but I'm still confused on what to buy. I would like at least a 4 mega pixel camera because I like to zoom in and crop my photos after they are taken. Buying a high mega pixel camera, will give me room to do that, right? I'm even thinking of getting a 5 or 6 mp camera... Do any of you own one? I really like the Kodak models because they seem to have the largest LCD screens, plus they are easy to use. C.net doesn't rate Kodak as high as some of the other brands (Olympus,Pentak, Nikon) But the user ratings for the Kodak seemed pretty good. Do any of you own the latest Kodak? If so, how is the picture quality on your prints? My last question is probably a bit technical .But it's about shutter speed.. I'd like to be able to manually ajust the shutter speed or at least have a burst mode which allows you to take a bunch of pictures real fast without any pauses..Is this available on any of the 4mp cameras or do I have to upgrade to a 6mp? ANyway any help you can give me would be appreciated..if not, I'll post on that other message board listed..Thanks again.. :)

Truth be told and money no object I would have me an SLR digital with a powerful OPTICAL zoom. But I can't afford it.

I have taken digital camera classes and got to the camera shop where they can make your mind swim with bigger and better but that isn't always the way it goes. Some of the greatest shots ever have been taken with cameras that the pros wouldn't touch.

I have been told that for most of us a 3 or 4 mega pixel camera is a good place to start. One pro told me that the cameras he uses all the time are 3,4, and a 6 mega pixel and for the internet a 1 or less is fine. But you probably want to print some right?

I have taken my 3.2 Mega pixel card to Kodak and had them print some photos with me and they turned out quite good.

But for the most part I have my camera for the times when the squirrel is hanging up side down on the bird feeder

I would definitely go with a 3.2 mp or better, to give you room to zoom and crop.

Jenny and Karen, Thank you so much for all your help/info, it's greatly appreciated. The Sony pictures came out really good. I just quickly looked through your Disneyland photo album ..Your family is so cute! The little pirate boy was just darling. I was considering getting a Sony until someone told me that you can only buy other Sony products for it, which ends up being expensive. Sony camera's are rated pretty well and judging by your pictures, I might consider getting that one you linked me to. It seemed like a really good camera. There are so many choices though and I need to research more. Thanks again for all your help and information ..Take care :)
