We have McAfee security and firewall. I've never had this computer flash warnings at me before. For two days now it keeps flashing at me - very quickly, then it vanishes - that they have detected a worm in something. How do I put this??? I can't tell what e-mail it's referring to. Now every time I try to download e-mails coming in, it takes a good 30 seconds no matter who they're from, that's new, and usually it takes just a second or two. It feels like every time I try to send any e-mail, that warning box flashes just briefly but does NOT stay open - yesterday it DID stay open and gave me the option of cancelling sending the e-mail in question or going ahead, this happened a number of times. Even though I told it to stop, all such e-mails went to the receiver, anyhow. I'm guessing it's checking them as they TRY to go out and sees there's not REALLY anything bad in them, so they go on their way. I just keep getting quick glimpses of that box warning me but it doesn't give me time to DO anything. Does any of this make sense? I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do here. Obviously SOMEBODY sent me something innocently that had a worm attached to it, I'm just assuming my firewall is preventing it from actively taking up residence. Or is it? Confusing stuff!

Log off the internet and then do a full system scan with McAfee, its easy just follow the prompts that come with the application. This will take awhile for it to run 20-30minutes so go do something else then come back. If it locates a problem on your PC it will show you how to get rid of it. IF you are running 8.0 or higher it will clean it automatically. If it finds nothing, you may have a problem with your ISP.
