Six hours and three loads of laundry later.  When I booted up after the installation, I got a message that my computer was not protected and vulnable.  A few seconds later, Norton AV icon came into my system tray.  I am up to date on definitions and my last full scan was 9/22/04.  What is Windows telling me?

I see I now have another pop-up blocker (Windows').  Does it hurt or help to have more than one running at the same time?

No, however some security programs do not work well at all together so they create new problems when running at the same time.

My rule of thumb for security software need is if you are not reading risque mail or going onto risque sites, then a single off the shelf antivirus program is sufficient.

I meant the pop-up stoppers, Ed.
