3rd beta results

Beta 1 - 32 (11 dpo)

Beta 2 - 148 ( 3 days later) (14 dpo)

Beta 3 - 300 (2 days later) (16 dpo)

So the progression between 2 & 3 is longer than between 1 & 2, and that definitely gives me pause, but my RE says it fluctuates and as long as it is doubling every 48/72 hours it's on the right track. First u/s on the 23rd...

May I ask what beta is? I've tried to ascertain its meaning in this context and have been unsuccessful. Regardless, I hope it's good news for you!

Oh, wow, those are great numbers! And your doc is totally right, so relax and enjoy! Congrats!

Melissa, beta refers to the beta hcg which are the hormones released by the baby (more or less). The numbers need to double every 2 to 3 days to indicate a healthy pregnancy. Low beta numbers don't always end in a loss, but the frequency is much higher, and good numbers don't always mean success either, but most of the time they are pretty indicative that all is going well. Those of us who have had losses, and even many who haven't, have the beta's checked to give an early indication of what is happening. If you do a search you can find some charts with average numbers for any given day in the first few weeks, and the numbers can vary by a HUGE amount and still end up in a normal, healthy pregnancy. Hope that helps.

Jeanne, 11 dpo is very early for a beta and number may rise fast at that early stage. 148 1t 14dpo is a very strong nuber (y re likes to see it over 50 on that day), and it doubled perfectly by 16dpo...a textbook perfect rise. I would be thrilled with those betas and I don't think those numbers should be anything but reassuring. Congrats!

I know it's hard not to worry, but those really ARE good numbers! Hoping for the best for that first U/S. =)
