I am pregnant with our first but our RE gave me clomid. I don't know what your doctor will say but everyone of them is different. If he doesn't give you the answer you want you are entitled to get a second opinion. BTW - we conceived through IVF with my own eggs so even though your doctor said he wouldn't use yours - there are other doctors out there who think differently.
I'm not sure why your doc wouldn't give it to you. I mean, he may not *personally* see a need (b/c you already have 5 kiddos), but his personal preference shouldn't matter. As long as taking it won't endanger you in some way, why wouldn't he?
And, like Susan mentioned, if he's unwilling to budge from his stance, I'd look at getting a second opinion.

Well, I have a doctor's appt Aug 3(first available and with a diff doctor, might not be a bad thing).
