Appellate Court Rules Media Can Legally Lie.

On February 14, a Florida Appeals court ruled there is absolutely nothing illegal about lying, concealing or distorting information by a major press organization... The attorneys for Fox, owned by media baron Rupert Murdock, argued the First Amendment gives broadcasters the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on the public airwaves.

Not a real surprise...considering it was FOX network!

Now that the precident has been set, I'll take my news with a grain of salt (more so than in the past! LOL)

Me too...but what about all those people on a low sodium diet??? Okay, bad joke! But still, the thought of this just makes me wonder where this country is going to next....

That's why I wouldn't waste my time watching any news on Fox. It's so right wing biased, it's laughable. Rupert Murdoch has a permanent place on my least favourite persons list. Disgusting!

Advertisers have to be truthful, but the news doesn't?

Not only FOx, it's everyone. How unsettling. That does it: I'm starting my own television station, one overwrought with rampant speculation presented as fact, according to my personal vendettas.

Seems I'll have some competition.
