I found this new message board that looks kind of interesting and a link to a really informative article about an Army chaplain in Iraq - thought some of you might like to read it.

Here's the link:

This story is ridiculous and something should be done about his actions!

I don't know if its really worth the energy to get that worked up. Noones forcing them to take the plunge and noone will patrol their house to see if they are at church.

If I was out there I would get saved, quickly sin and recant and get saved agin, and so on.I'd be clean at least.

Gosh, I don't recall asking you for your opinion on whether it was "worth the energy to get that worked up" - The post was made as a point of reference - and nothing more.

If you're incapable of comprehending how wrong this situation is, that's your problem.

Tell you what: Take a plane to the Middle East, endure hot temps and dust storms enroute to your assigned destination toward the death and destruction of innocent people because your frat boy president told you that it's the patriotic thing to do, be deprived of comfortable surroundings, suffer the trauma of war, and then see if YOU think it's the fair and "Christian" thing for a chaplain to offer you fresh water for bathing IF and ONLY IF you sit through two and a half hours of preaching and baptism.

Sheesh.

My opinion-nothing more and nothing less.

I clicked on the link and people were pretty upset.I stated my opinion, without insulting you,or anyone else.

Firstly welcome to the board, always good to see a new face.

This 'chaplin' is getting away with this unethical behaviour because of the present climate of 'christian fervour' generated by this admin. & the fundermentalist influence on/by the Pres.

You might be interested in this thread on the same subject of religion, which also includes the story you posted about.

Hi libraone -

Thanks for the welcome and for the links.

Actually, the message board where I found the link about the chaplain, also has a link about the Bush/god story. I think more and more people are realizing his true agendas.

Have a good day!
