France to Rethink Iraqi Foreign Debt

http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/w-me/2003/dec/15/121500132.html

"France and other creditor nations are looking to strike a deal on helping Iraq reduce its foreign debt next year, the French foreign minister said Monday...

The announcement comes a day ahead of a visit to France by former Secretary of State James A. Baker, President Bush's new emissary postwar Iraq. Baker is charged with trying to win international support for reconstruction, including promises to erase Iraq's crushing burden of foreign debt. "

AND a week after they were told they need not apply for reconstruction contracts.

One big difference.

We were not violating the surrender agreement and UN embargo against Iraq by selling the arms, as France and Russia apparently did.

I am speaking sepcifially of the armaments that have been found in large storage bunkers that had the manufacture date located on them, which was October 2001 and these items were manufactured in France.

I am also speaking about the anti-tank missile that Iraq seemed to get their hands on, that was made in Russia to defeat the Abrahms tank (the only anti-tank missile that can penetrate the armor plating of this tank by the way). This missile was not created until 1999, which was a full 8 years after the embargo was put into effect.
