President Bush has his sights on Mars! Not since the days of John F. Kennedy has a president made such a grand proposal.

The President will address the nation (and the world) this afternoon.

Who knows, there may just be strife on Mars.

While I fully support a strong and aggressive space program, I also realize that the money isn't there for it right now.

Well, there ya'll go again...Bush bashing. Don't you all get tired of being SOOO negative? Heck yeah! Let's build a station on the moon! Let's go to Mars! I thought the liberals would be all for that, after all, it's not like we've destroyed the earth already. (HA HA)

As for the Geeks... Give them a challenge and some funding and they are going to "accidently" invent hundreds of tech gadgets, HEY, that would probably lead to more JOBS (one of the libs fav whines) Wasn't teflon one of those little space geek inventions?

Besides, the world needs to know that the U.S. will continue to move forward into the future..."TO BOLDLY GO WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORRRRRRRRRRRRE" (cue the 2001 music)

Oh, you kids and your "new age" stuff. No respect for the classics. Besides which, we've all had plenty of experience dealing with Borg on these boards... no challenge left where they're concerned.

O.K. Ya'll are starting to freak me out here!!!! I always wondered how the human race could exist with liberals and conservatives being sooo different. But those last few posts just proved to me... WE ARE FROM DIFFERENT WORLDS my friends, and it sounds like ya'll are from another galaxy entirely.

I feel sure that there will be more privatizing (SP?) in the future space programs. It would only make sense. As for Govt. spending...it is through the roof. I agree on the President's principles and goals but not necessarily his methods of getting there. I think he has tried to appease the left too much, even taken their issues in some cases, which I guess I am TOO conservative to understand. AIDS in Africa, prescription drugs, extending unemployment benefits....Maybe I'm a LIBERTARIAN?????
