Some critics argue that "outsourcing" of service sector employment to foreign countries will lead to a serious decline in U.S. white-collar jobs. In reality, outsourcing will reshape but not undermine U.S. service sector employment, making companies more efficient. It will also benefit consumers and export businesses...

Do you agree with everything the current adminstration proposes/pushes - just because it's the GOP?

Here's Kerry on outsourcing. Doesn't sound like pandering to me:

"I'm for trade. I was in Dayton the other day, at a UAW hall right opposite the Delphai plant that's just, you know, it's gone...and they've gone from 3500 workers to 1600 workers and the top shop steward stood up and said "Sentor, will you promise that when you're president you're going stop this outsourcing?" and I stood up and said, "No, I can't promise that." I'm not gonna tell you as president I can do something I can't do.

Outsourcing will continue to some degree. What I can promise you is we won't abandon the workers of America. We're not gonna leave you to a playing field where we reward people for sending jobs overseas...I mean the American taxpayer is subsidising people moving them...and we're not going to have labor and environment standards that are completely ignored, so that we don't try to lift people up at some reasonable rate. We came within a hair of doing that in NAFTA. In the Jordan Agreement, in the Vietnam agreement, as President Clinton left office, we did those things. I think we can go further in that effort. Now it's not to negate trade...it's to elevate the playing field, if you will."

I use Phillips light bulbs, or Sylvania

I ride US Airways, or ride the train, Amtrack. Shop at Publix.

I'm trying very hard to avoid outsoursing companys, but as I looked over that list, I use many of them. my bank, home building suppy stores. I guess you have to carry that list around.

No wonder when I call for help or service I can't understand them, and alot of times they have such an attitude. Cutsomer service has alot to do with relating to someone, and being considerate, and empathic. I use to work in retail.

My XB/F worked for GE they went to Mexico, he was forced out of his job a year before he retired. He made $24 an hour plus bennies. He even went down there to train them for a month, then 2 weeks they gave him his pink slip.

I also noticed on that list that Fannie May, was listed? Isn't that a government agency like HUD? Now that is scary to have to call them and give them our personal and financial information...What do you all think about that?
