Thanks so much for the information. I found the ones that focused on corporations truly disturbing. In view of globalizations, I have feared the power of corporations who are beyond the control of nations and have few laws. I would like to mention the follow for those that didn't look up the cites. My concern is that these problems are so pervasive yet so beyond individual experience that great damage can be done while the public sleeps.

From: Corporate Personhood

Anyone seeking to preserve America's fragile democracy must first understand the scope and magnitude of the powers aligned against it. We live in an age in which corporations have been enthroned and corruption in high places has enabled power and wealth to be aggregated into an increasingly smaller number of hands. As citizens concerned with the future of human rights in a democratic republic, it's vital that we now speak up and spread the word about "Corporate Personhood," which lies at the heart of the challenge facing us today.

From: Third World Austerity Policies

Many of these policies had been established slowly in the United States over a number of years, but the intensity and speed with which they are now emerging is unprecedented. After 9-11, with much of the public distracted by terrorism and the desire for national defense, business litigators and anti-labor politicians stepped up the process of rolling back laws enacted over the last 100 years to protect workers, the public, and the environment from the excesses of industry. Just as with World Bank/IMF policies in other countries, the goal is to privatize profits and socialize losses. The vast majority of profits made by a company will be concentrated in a few private hands, while economic losses will be borne by the taxpayers through increased taxation and denial of social benefits. This is a trend that represents a huge shift in social and economic policy in the United States, with long lasting implications.

And finally number 25,Convicted Corporations Receive Perks Instead of Punishment, only emphasizes the importance of the first reference.
