Was this the guy who tried to blame it on his diabetes? Certainly, average joe would have gotten sentenced to manslaughter and received more time. Justice IS blind--NOT.
IMHO, it is the obvious targeting of people that is the problem. Martha wasn't convicted of insider trading, she was convicted because she tried to cover it up. If this is the case it tells me that when the fed goes after you it is best you pay the fine and not make them prosecute you. They want some respect after all!
On this we agree. A corporate culture that pays you for "slight of hand" and allows attorneys and accounts to benefit from the deceit does need correcting. But is so difficult to follow the trail of these tactics. Pick the easiest target--that seems to be the game.
