Kissed your abortionist today?

Today, March 10, is National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers Day established in 1996 by Planned Parenthood and NOW (plus 20 other leftist orgs.)

The REFUSE AND RESIST website suggests cards and letters of appreciation and gift baskets of fruit and muffins for Abortion providing doctors and clinics.

Yes, I do believe that we must tell these heroes of our society how much we, as women, appreciate them sucking human life out of our wombs!

I wonder how pro-choice/pro-partial birth abortion John Kerry is celebrating this sacred holiday?

Have a great day! Get an abortion! I'ts a national holiday for crying-out-loud.

The very fact that women who have abortions need counseling and help tells me that they need support to protect life, not wonder about their decision the rest of their lives.

Most women need counseling after giving up a child for adoption as well.

I am pro-choice because I know that the decision these women are making is not made lightly and that it is something these women need to do.

Oh, please don't misunderstand, I was not offended by your post. I would not post at all if I was easily offended!

Maybe not to the point of making abortion illegal again...but why aren't we as a society uplifting life and promoting adoption and financial and medical care for these women? Maybe it is the only feasible option for some women. But I know a LOT of women when I was in college who had them out of convenience.

Someone posted that there were enough adoptable babies already. What kind of argument is that? Kill the left overs? Why are there waiting lists for children? Why are couples going outside the country for babies?

Keep it legal but I would it rather be rare than the norm, certainly not something to be made into a holiday!

Thank you for your courteous post!

The "holiday" isn't to celebrate the act of having an abortion, any more then Cancer Awareness week is about celebrating Cancer.

The *least* number of abortions performed per year (many are not reported) is about 1,800,000. This compared to just under 4,000,000 live births per year.(CDC) That sounds like it's become pretty norm.

As for convenience, in 1995, 45% of abortions were repeats. One abortion someone may SEEM to be a neccessity, 2, they should have figured out how to be more responsible!

Each year, there are 50,000 babies born and put up for adoption in the U.S., there are about 2 million couples on waiting lists for babies to adopt...

Just something to consider...

And how many OLDER children are sitting in the state systems...begging for someone to adopt them?

They wouldn't be required to see a physician first (eliminating that cost for those who don't have health insurance/have too high a deductible) but would have to go over a questionaire with their pharmacist.

Well, I don't have - or need - a personal abortionist. I do however appreciate the willingness of these men and women to provide legal and safe medical care to women who do want and need their services. Theirs is a difficult job made dangerous by right wing nutcases that value the "unborn" more than the "born" and are willing to insult and even kill and maim to prove their point.

I don't think anyone is "celebrating abortion". Rather people are celebrating the willingness of men and women to put their lives on the line to continue to offer women the choice of a legal medical procedure that some people object to. Women don't have abortions for fun! It is a medical procedure. Can you imagine anyone having any medical procedure done just for the enjoyment? That's ridiculous!

It's not exactly 'non-prescription' because it's not technically OTC.
