Looks like he chose poorly, just like all of his other decisions on foreign policy matters.

The man (Clinton) may have had a good domestic policy (some of which I do not agree with), but had no clue on how to deal with the outside world. His answer to all the problems was to launch a cruise missile at it.

Oh, sorry, I forgot that he also got us involved in the war on Kosovo. I guess they were an imminent threat to the security of the United States.

No they did not put pressure on the Sudan, and they even had the intelligence information on how exactly bin Laden was going to leave Sudan to go to Pakistan. They knew the plane, they knew the route, and still did nothing about it.

They hoped he would go into the mountains of Pakistan and disappear.....looks like another error in judgement for foreign policy on behalf of the Clinton administration.

The 9-11 commission has just reported that the only information about this link came from an unrealible Sudannese informant. There is no reliable evidence that this happend. I am busy revising my opinion of your objectivity.

It will be interesting to hear Clinton's answers. Unfortunately, GWB will not address the full panel, and his answers will not be heard by the public.

I got to agree with wrhen on this one. Leaders by definition must engage the public and demonstrate why some things need to be done. If leadership simply meant following the easy course then anyone could do it. As for public will, the media are shapers of public opinion. They must take some responsibility (along with the Clinton Administration) in their selection of the news that they consider important and not simply blame the result on public will. Just my $0.02.

I agree that a good leader will do something that he feels is right even when the "popular support" for the idea is not there.

I agree and an attitude of "with us or against us" sometimes called black/white or good/evil thinking is most alarming. It is childish and simplistic; as we mature we should learn that situations are never so clear cut. Polarized thinking leads directly to name-calling and finger pointing that closes down reason and discussion.

So true.

I think mentally lazy is more appropriate than scary. The rapidity to which label and divide has become fashionable in thinking about issues scares me. I spent a good deal of time in school learning to examine and evaluate positions, without this we are endanger of losing our reasoning ability. The result is that we follow--this is why Fox is so popular--it tells you what to think.
