Bush called for permanent extension of these tax breaks in his State of the Union address but not reform of the alternative minimum tax, which denies families most of the Bush write-offs.

Because of the AMT most "middle class" and lower Americans will NEVER be able to benefit from his "Tax Cuts" for "everyone" but the wealthy sure will be able to benefit from those cuts.  By the end of Bush's "plan," middle class America will be completely cut out of Bush's "Tax Cuts" while all his cronies will still be raking in billions.

This is the guy that is supposed to be for everyone?  The guy has always been and always will be for the elite 10% of America.  The rest of us are only here to provide that 10% with money and to die in his wars.

Interesting article: - wonder were the writer got their information

"Governors in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Wyoming have signed tax increases into law that will contribute to balancing those states’ budgets for the 2003 and 2004 fiscal years. "

Um. Wyoming does NOT have a state tax. LOL. Wyoming has a surplus in the budget - as in " Gee we have more money then we thought and they are trying to determine where it will go"

The ONLY taxes that increased where taxes on cigarettes - BFD. They Wyoming budget does not need "balanced" when there is such a surplus. The taxes on the cigarettes was just another way for the government to pull more money out of the peoples pockets - there was no "need" to increase it.

Last year around this time the news was on how much of a surplus. This year again - the state has a surplus. Now when the fiscal year begins again - "oh look theres a deficit".

Its a money game.

I really dislike it when reporters just cant get the story straight. :)

Taxes in Wyoming

Your federal income tax (Yes people saw the tax cuts here :))

Sales tax 5% on everything.

Tobacco tax - I dont know - I dont smoke.

Gas tax - Im not sure - Our gas is about 1.61 per gallon right now while a lot of the nation is topping the 2$ mark.
